This is what Hawai‘i is all about, stunning private waterfalls, tranquil streams, scenic coastlines and rugged valleys on the North end of the Big Island. We explore the North Kohala rainforest and several waterfalls (when mother nature allows). Come prepared to swim in the waterfalls or relax and enjoy the stunning views. Total hiking distance is 1.5 miles covered in 1 to 2 hours, waterfall temperatures vary by season and the amount of rainfall, and temperatures range between 60 and 70 degrees F.
A Safe Jungle Environment
Contrary to many tropical destinations, Hawai‘i, and specifically the Kohala region on the Big Island, offers an exceptionally safe environment for hikers. Unlike other jungles worldwide, Hawai‘i's wilderness is free from dangerous predators. This means you can explore the lush greenery, traverse the rugged valleys, and swim in the serene waterfall pools without the fear of encountering threatening wildlife. So, whether you're a seasoned hiker or a casual wanderer, you can appreciate the island's beauty with a mind at ease, knowing that Hawai‘i's wilderness is as welcoming as it is captivating
